Sports medicine is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries due to athletic activity or an active lifestyle.

The practice of sports medicine involves a carefully coordinated approach between the team physician/orthopedic surgeon, athletic trainer, and rehabilitation specialist/physical therapist. At Rezin Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, we employ this team approach and offer the athlete or active lifestyle patient comprehensive services which permit maximum functional recovery while minimizing down time and expediting return to play.

The Rezin Orthopedics and Sports Medicine team has created a unique, state-of-the-art program to oversee the physical well-being of all athletes. We offer a comprehensive, personalized sport-specific strength, conditioning, and athletic enhancement program for teams and individuals, sport-specific preseason physicals for athletes, and an injury evaluation and treatment clinic every week that is free of charge to student athletes during the fall season. We are the team physicians for Morris Community High School, Seneca High School, Marquette Academy, Minooka Community High School, Coal City High School, Joliet-Catholic High School, Plainfield South High School, Plainfield Central High School, and Bolingbrook High School. Our physicians and surgeons are experienced in treating professional, college, high school and recreational athletes. Our physical therapists and trainers also work closely with the physician and athlete to permit immediate evaluations and execute physical therapy protocols allowing safe transitions back to play.
